Twenty Men, One Boat (The Proposal)
Prince Mal's envoys arrive by boat to propose marriage. Olha tells them to demand to be carried in their boat as an honour; her men carry them to a trench dug overnight and bury them alive. She asks whether the honour is to their taste. Chronicle legend throughout, including the count of twenty and the reply 'worse than Ihor's death'; historians allow that the killing of a first embassy is plausible, the rest is the chronicler's design.
