SEED MONEY

SizzleC · 6 songs · in production

Six songs on the public record of Creflo Dollar, the Atlanta prosperity preacher, 1986 to 2022: eight people in a school cafeteria, a dome, sixty-nine million, a Senate inquiry, a dismissed case, a $65 million jet campaign and a sermon that took it all back. Every song opens in a crime-thriller score and switches hard into the Atlanta sound of its own era. The Pastor who preaches the openings is an original character, not a quotation; every factual line is sung from the record, with its sources.

Crime-thriller film score and church organ, each song into an Atlanta sound of its era: 1990s Southern hip-hop, 2000s crunk, late-2000s orchestral trap, 2010s dark trap, triplet-flow trap and soulful gospel house

The Cafeteria cover

[Male Vocal]

[Intro]

[Spoken Word]

Don't look at the room

Look at what is in your hand

I said don't look at the room, church

Whatever you walked in here with

That is enough to start

Can I get a witness

[Verse 1]

Nineteen eighty-six, a school cafeteria

Kathleen Mitchell Elementary, College Park

Lunch tables pushed back on a Sunday

Eight people came to hear him start

[Pre-Chorus]

Eight people in a borrowed room

The seed goes in the ground

[Drop]

Eight in a lunchroom, now a dome of their own

Eight thousand five hundred seats in the World Dome

Debt-free, debt-free, that's the way the church tells it

Eight to eight thousand, watch the little seed grow

[Verse 2]

[Rap]

Born in College Park, January, sixty-two

Planes low over the rooftops, the airport rumbling through

Nineteen eighty-six he's preaching in the town he knew

Eight became a crowd and the crowd outgrew the room

December ninety-four, the church gets its Georgia papers

World Changers on the filing, the name for all the neighbors

Ninety-five, the Dome, eight thousand five hundred places

A debt-free facility, I'm quoting what the church says

[Drop 2]

Eight in a lunchroom, now a dome of their own

Eight thousand five hundred seats in the World Dome

Debt-free, debt-free, that's the way the church tells it

Eight to eight thousand, watch the little seed grow

[Bridge]

[Spoken Word]

Don't you despise small beginnings

Small seed, tall tree

Say it with me

[Verse 3]

[Rap]

From a school cafeteria to a dome on the skyline

A boy from College Park with the whole town in his sightline

Hold that picture, eight people and a hymn

Remember that room when the lights get dim

[Outro]

Eight in a lunchroom

01 · The Cafeteria

cartel-thriller film score, ominous low brass, deep sub drone, slow pounding war drums, church organ, a Southern preacher's spoken sermon over the score → 1990s Atlanta Southern hip-hop, live funk bass, warm Hammond organ, swung drums, laid-back male rap, gospel choir hook, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

🎶 The Sizzle: Opens in the score: low brass, a sub drone and war drums under a church organ while the Pastor tells a room not to look at the room. Then a hard drop into 1990s Atlanta Southern hip-hop, live bass and Hammond organ, the choir carrying the count from eight to eight thousand.

🎬 The Story: 1986: the first service of World Changers Ministries is held in the cafeteria of Kathleen Mitchell Elementary School in College Park, Georgia, with eight people in attendance. 1995: the church moves into the 8,500-seat World Dome, which the church's own history calls a debt-free facility.

Sixty-Nine Million cover

[Male Vocal]

[Intro]

[Spoken Word]

Turn to your neighbor

Tell your neighbor, I came to give

Lift it up

Higher

I can't hear the envelopes

Higher than that

[Verse 1]

Thirty thousand members, that's the number the church would claim

Sixty-nine million in two thousand six came

Not an audit, not a filing, just a brief report

The church showed the paper, and the paper wrote it down

[Pre-Chorus]

Hear the plates go round

Hear the plates go round

[Drop]

Sixty-nine million

Sixty-nine million

Brief report, the paper saw it

Sixty-nine million

[Verse 2]

[Rap]

January oh-six, the Times asks about the pay

Set by a compensation board, but the figure he won't say

Ten months later on TV, the story takes a turn

Stopped taking a salary two years back, that's what we learn

Oh-eight, he does not draw a salary at all

Conflicting, that's the word the Senate staff would call

[Drop 2]

Sixty-nine million

Sixty-nine million

Brief report, the paper saw it

Sixty-nine million

[Bridge]

[Spoken Word]

Heaven is not broke

And neither are you

Say it with me, I am not broke

[Verse 3]

[Rap]

The Times wrote two Rolls, gifts from the people in the pews

Said he'd never spend that kind of money on one, that was the news

November oh-seven, Channel Two, the Rolls belong to the church

Next day, CBS, we don't have two, he says first

The one Rolls-Royce that was purchased was purchased by the donors

Three answers to one question, and the cameras on the corners

[Outro]

Sixty-nine million

02 · Sixty-Nine Million

cartel-thriller film score, ominous low brass, deep sub drone, slow pounding war drums, church organ, a Southern preacher's spoken offering call with congregation responses → mid-2000s Atlanta crunk, booming 808s, stabbing brass, shouted gang-chant hook, aggressive male rap, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

🎶 The Sizzle: An offering call over the drone ('lift it up… I can't hear the envelopes'), then mid-2000s Atlanta crunk: booming 808s, stabbing brass and a gang-chant hook made of one number.

🎬 The Story: The church claimed 30,000 members and took in $69 million in 2006, according to a brief report it showed the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. On salary the Senate staff called his public statements conflicting: set by a compensation board (2006), stopped about 2004 (a TV interview ten months later), does not draw one (2008). On the Rolls-Royces: gifts from congregants (New York Times, 2006), they belong to the church (WSB-TV, 6 Nov 2007), 'we don't have two' and 'the one Rolls-Royce that was purchased was purchased by the donors' (CBS, 7 Nov 2007).

Least Cooperative cover

[Male Vocal]

[Intro]

[Spoken Word]

Senate Finance Committee, minority staff review

Despite repeated communications

W-C-C-I did not provide responses to any of the questions

And was, therefore, the least cooperative

[Verse 1]

November two thousand seven, the questionnaires went out

Six ministries asked on salaries, perks, travel and oversight

His lawyer wrote the senator, refer it to the IRS

Or get a subpoena, that was the answer to the rest

[Pre-Chorus]

Least cooperative

That's the word they wrote

[Drop]

Least cooperative, least cooperative

Not a single answer, they wrote it in the file

Public records and third parties

When the front door's locked you take the long way round

[Verse 2]

[Rap]

Nineteen eighty-four jet, N one-oh-three C-D

Owned by World Heir, a for-profit company

Dollar is the CEO, his wife is the CFO

The staff laid the FAA records by a list and read it slow

Some flights could not be verified, that's what the staff wrote

One-day trips, vacation spots, St. Kitts, Las Vegas, Destin

Most of them flown on the jet his own corporation owned

That's the staff review, page twelve, I'm just reading what they've shown

[Drop 2]

Least cooperative, least cooperative

Not a single answer, they wrote it in the file

Public records and third parties

When the front door's locked you take the long way round

[Bridge]

[Spoken Word]

When they come for the shepherd

The sheep stand still

Touch not my anointed

Can I get an amen

[Verse 3]

[Rap]

January sixth, twenty-eleven, the review comes out

No penalties, no charges, that's how the inquiry closed out

Years of letters and the questions never answered

Least cooperative, in the record, black on white paper

[Outro]

Least cooperative

03 · Least Cooperative

cartel-thriller film score, ominous low brass, deep sub drone, slow pounding war drums, ticking clock percussion, a flat official spoken-word reading over the drone → late-2000s Atlanta trap, orchestral brass stabs, heavy 808s, rolling hi-hats, menacing male rap, gospel choir hook, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

🎶 The Sizzle: A flat official voice reads the Senate staff review over a ticking drone; then late-2000s Atlanta trap with orchestral brass stabs, the choir singing the staff's own two words.

🎬 The Story: November 2007: Senator Grassley's Finance Committee questionnaires go to six media-based ministries. The minority staff review (released 6 Jan 2011) wrote that WCCI 'did not provide responses to any of the questions and was, therefore, the least cooperative'; his lawyer had asked the senator to refer the matter to the IRS or get a subpoena. The staff traced a 1984 jet owned by World Heir, Inc., a for-profit with Dollar as CEO, and listed flights that 'could not be verified'. The inquiry ended with no penalties or charges.

Fayette County cover

[Male Vocal]

[Intro]

[Spoken Word]

January twenty-fifth, twenty-thirteen

The solicitor general of Fayette County

As a result

The case against him is over

[Verse 1]

Rewind to June, early Friday morning, twenty-twelve

A call to nine-one-one from a house in Fayette County

Simple battery, cruelty to children, misdemeanors on the sheet

And in a statement through his lawyer, he denied it

[Pre-Chorus]

I would never use my hand

To ever cause bodily harm to my children

[Drop]

Case is over, case is over

He denied it from the start, and the case is over

Pretrial program, an anger class and the fees

Fayette County closed the file, the case is over

[Verse 2]

[Rap]

A pretrial intervention, that's the program he went through

An anger-management course and reporting on probation too

About a thousand in court fees, and the charges dropped away

Consistently denied the allegations, that's what the papers say

No trial and no verdict, no conviction on the page

An allegation he denied, and the county turned the page

[Drop 2]

Case is over, case is over

He denied it from the start, and the case is over

Pretrial program, an anger class and the fees

Fayette County closed the file, the case is over

[Bridge]

Lord, have mercy on the house

Every house has got a door

[Verse 3]

[Rap]

June to January, the headlines came and went

The county said it's over, that's the last word it sent

He denied it then, and the record shows the same

Two sides to every door, and only one gets a name

[Outro]

Case is over

04 · Fayette County

cartel-thriller film score, mournful low brass, deep sub drone, distant war drums, a solemn spoken-word open over the drone → sparse dark 2010s Atlanta trap, eerie minor piano, slow heavy 808s, half-sung male rap, hushed gospel choir hook, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

🎶 The Sizzle: No Pastor on this one. A solemn spoken open, then sparse dark 2010s Atlanta trap: eerie minor piano, slow 808s, a hushed choir.

🎬 The Story: June 2012: after a 911 call from his house in Fayette County he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He denied it in a statement released by his lawyer. In January 2013 the charge was dropped after a pretrial intervention program (an anger-management course, probation reporting, about $1,000 in fees); the solicitor said 'the case against him is over'. An allegation he has consistently denied: no trial, no conviction.

Project G650 cover

[Male Vocal]

[Intro]

[Spoken Word]

Close your eyes

Now see it

Higher

Higher than the weather

Higher than the ones who said you couldn't

Somebody say higher

[Verse 1]

November twenty-fourteen, London, Biggin Hill

The nose gear folded in a runway excursion

The ministry's old jet down on its chin

By March a website went up with a mission

[Pre-Chorus]

The mission of Project G six-fifty

Is to acquire a Gulfstream G six-fifty airplane

[Drop]

Three hundred dollars or more

From two hundred thousand people

Sixty-five million up in the clouds

Turn this dream into a reality

[Verse 2]

[Rap]

A video asked friends from around the world

Then the page went dark that month, deactivated, gone

The spokesman told the press there is no campaign

It's a moot point, he said, and the story carried on

April to his church, I'm on my sabbatical

The enemy's trying to discredit me, he said

I never one time came to you

And asked you for a dime for this airplane, did I

If I want to believe God for a sixty-five million plane

You cannot stop me, and the people rose and cheered

[Drop 2]

Three hundred dollars or more

From two hundred thousand people

Sixty-five million up in the clouds

Turn this dream into a reality

[Bridge]

[Spoken Word]

Some of y'all can't see it yet

That's alright

Vision don't need your permission

Higher

[Verse 3]

[Rap]

June, the board wrote it plain, we plan to acquire

A Gulfstream G six-fifty because it is the best

A tool that is necessary to fulfill the mission, they said

Nearly seventy million by the paper's count, and there the record rests

[Outro]

Turn this dream into a reality

05 · Project G650

cartel-thriller film score, ominous low brass, deep sub drone, slow pounding war drums, rising jet-engine swell, a Southern preacher's spoken vision-casting over church organ → mid-2010s Atlanta trap, bouncy heavy 808s, rapid triplet-flow male rap, menacing low brass riff, gospel choir hook, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

🎶 The Sizzle: The Pastor casts a vision ('higher than the weather') over a rising jet-engine swell, then mid-2010s Atlanta triplet-flow trap with a menacing low-brass riff and a choir singing the campaign's own sentence.

🎬 The Story: After the ministry's jet suffered a nose-gear collapse during a runway excursion at London Biggin Hill (Nov 2014), Project G650 asked for $300 or more from 200,000 people toward a $65 million Gulfstream G650 'to turn this dream into a reality'. The page came down in March 2015 ('There is no campaign. It's a moot point,' a spokesman said). In April he told his church 'I never one time came to you and asked you for a dime for this airplane, did I?' and 'If I want to believe God for a $65 million plane, you cannot stop me.' In June the church's board said it planned to acquire a G650 'because it is the best'.

The Great Misunderstanding cover

[Female Vocal]

[Intro]

(Pastor): "Put it down"

(Pastor): "The envelope, put it down"

(Pastor): "You can't buy what's already paid for"

(Pastor): "Breathe"

(Pastor): "That's grace"

[Verse 1]

June twenty-sixth, twenty twenty-two

A Sunday sermon called The Great Misunderstanding

He told the room the teachings he had shared in times past

On the subject of tithing were not correct

[Pre-Chorus]

Not correct, not correct

After all of those years

[Drop]

Throw away every book

Every tape and every video

On the subject of tithing

Under grace, under grace

[Verse 2]

I won't apologize, he said in the same breath

If it wasn't for me going down that route

I wouldn't have ended up where I am now

From the prosperity pulpit to the grace he preaches now

A lunchroom, then a dome, then a jet, and then a turn

The plates went round for decades, now the teaching changed somehow

[Drop 2]

Throw away every book

Every tape and every video

On the subject of tithing

Under grace, under grace

[Bridge]

(Pastor): "Grace"

(Pastor): "Say it with me"

[Verse 3]

Every book, every tape, every video gone

Under grace, the same voice singing a different song

Eight people in a lunchroom, and a long way from home

Throw it all away and the seed is still sown

[Outro]

Under grace

06 · The Great Misunderstanding

cartel-thriller film score, ominous low brass, deep sub drone, slow pounding war drums, church organ, a deep male Southern preacher's spoken grace sermon over the score → Atlanta soulful gospel house, 122 bpm four-on-the-floor, warm organ stabs, rolling bassline, powerful female gospel house vocal with choir, genre switch at the one-minute mark: slow first minute then a hard beat drop, story-driven concept album, Atlanta megachurch crime-thriller narrative

He now preaches what he calls the Gospel of Grace.
