Project G650
After the ministry's jet suffered a nose-gear collapse during a runway excursion at London Biggin Hill (Nov 2014), Project G650 asked for $300 or more from 200,000 people toward a $65 million Gulfstream G650 'to turn this dream into a reality'. The page came down in March 2015 ('There is no campaign. It's a moot point,' a spokesman said). In April he told his church 'I never one time came to you and asked you for a dime for this airplane, did I?' and 'If I want to believe God for a $65 million plane, you cannot stop me.' In June the church's board said it planned to acquire a G650 'because it is the best'.
